The lovely Candy from Love Candy Cakes contacted me last week, as she wanted a helping hand to promote her newly opened ‘Cake Boutique’  and as always I was only too happy to help!  We quickly produced some DL Flyers, on one side we created an offer voucher and on the reverse side a showcase of all the delicious treats and goodies that Candy and The Cake Boutique has to offer… cookies, brownies, blondies, Victoria sponges, flapjack, cupcakes are just a few off the top of my head… mmmmm : )

With Mother’s Day just around the corner Katherine at The Lash & Brow Bar has focused her window display to take advantage of this busy time of year.  We sat down together and came up with a plan to promote some of her treatments, which have been designed & printed  as huge A1 salon posters.

Many shop owners forget the importance of their window display, which can be easily and cheaply transformed with BIG display posters.   Sale or offer posters should be big and bold with a clear message.  It’s worth spending time planning your window displays and changing them regularly, with a bit of thought you’ll reap the rewards and increase your sales!

Here is a logo that we have just finished designing for Jamie at The Lollipop Shop.  Jamie knew exactly what she wanted, so her logo fell into our Exact logo package.   I was emailed a quick sketch of Jamie’s idea and produced a couple of concepts, which we developed.  Many of our clients often have an idea in their head,  but not the technical skills to make it look professional.  Even if you’re not the best artist, we promise to never laugh at your spidery doodles!  Afterall, some of our best designs start from a quick doodle!

Logo Design - Unique Wedding Planning

Here is a sneak preview of a project that I am currently working on for Joy at Unique Wedding Planning.   Joy and I have worked together for nearly a year,  on a number of varied projects.  She  comes from a strong retail background and appreciates all the benefits that good branding brings to a business, so when she asked me to work with her on this latest venture, I was only too happy to oblige.

The starting point for me was to create a brand identity that would sit easily alongside Unique Wedding Plannings current branding.  By combining the existing colour palette from Unique with timeless, elegant fonts I have created a simple yet stylish logo that will carry on throughout all of the marketing (which will be featured on the blog tomorrow).

I was enjoying a serene Tuesday morning when an email popped up on screen titled “LYNSEY, HELP!” … so I took a deep breath and read on  “…just booked into a massive wedding fayre and realised I have NO flyers…… LYNSEY HELP!”

This was a plea from the lovely Francesca at Venue, how could I not help this damsel in distress?  Anyway to cut a long story short, I designed Francesca’s new flyers and met her tight deadline and we all lived happily ever after : )

Venue is a small family run business specialising in all aspects of wedding venue styling.  Venue can provide you with Chair Covers, Sparkle Backdrops, Table Decorations and centrepieces to compliment the theme or look of your wedding.  With Valentine’s Day just around the corner,  some lucky couples may be needing Francesca’s services very soon.  Girls, still waiting for him to pop the question?  Don’t forget it’s a leap year ; )

I’ve been working with Katherine at The White Room for a few years now and so pleased to be part of her 10th Anniversary celebrations!  The big day isn’t here quite yet but I’ve had the very important job of designing and printing the invitations & marketing materials.

Katherine always knows exactly what she wants and is a true pleasure to work with.  After a quick catch up over a coffee we decided on an ultra classy black and white theme for the marketing – perfect for her ‘dress to impress’ red carpet event (she really knows how to throw a party!)

I’ve designed a range of marketing materials including: promotional flyers, A1 posters, Invitations and not forgetting the special offer stickers – as I know there’s going to be some serious discounts on the night.

I have just finished working on the first ever edition of the ‘In season’ newsletter for East Lodge.  With the Glorious 12th upon us and  Bakewell Show earlier this week, the newsletter was delivered in perfect time to take advantage of these key events in the season.  We pulled out all the stops to make sure we hit the deadline for David and when I delivered the newsletters earlier this week he's already working on ideas for the winter edition … talk about being kept on our toes!

The ‘In Season’ newsletter is full of the latest news from East Lodge, including their latest culinary innovation – The Chef’s Table.   The Chef’s table is a real highlight, where people can enjoy fine dining while watching the award winning Chef’s at work.  The atmosphere is not ‘painted on the walls’ with this Chef’s Table, but experienced live, putting guests at an inner secret table, at the heart of the restaurant’s action.  To find out more about East Lodge click here

We've had some fun at Bimbo Design working on the branding for Shake UP!   James came to us a couple of weeks ago,  full of enthusiasm about his new venture and we were only too happy to help make his ideas a reality.  James knew exactly the path that he wanted to take with his branding and this allowed us to to work quickly and keep design costs to a minimum - which when you are starting a new venture is crucial!

We've also designed and printed flyers for Shake UP ready for the launch, which is happening next Saturday (13.8.11).  We included a 'FREE Shake' voucher to entice customers to come and try before they buy - so we know James is going to be busy next weekend!

Salon Branding - Pure Escape Spa

Bimbo Design have been delighted to be part of the exciting new venture for Alison and Adelle of Pure Escape Spa in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.  

Pure Escape features a downstairs Spa Lounge with hot tub and infrared sauna, the perfect place to unwind before and after a treatment.  Their boutique chic spa has a beautiful tranquil reception and nail area, 4 luxurious treatment rooms and a relaxing pedicure room. Not forgetting the fabulous VIP area, which is perfect for couples, family and friends, who enjoy pampering together... sounds like heaven!

I met with Alison and Adelle in November of last year, where we planned the look of their new spa and discussed branding ideas.  They both knew exactly the image they were after; high end, exclusive and super chic... 7 months and a lot of hard work later here are the results:

 {Spa Exterior signage}  I kept the design clean and elegant with raised lettering for added impact

{Spa Brochure}  Printed on a lovely silk stock, these look and feel amazing!. 

 

{Appointment cards} Deliciously thick appointment cards, matt laminated for extra resilience.

  {Treatment Room}  I can't take any credit for this, Alison and Adelle have styled the interior beautifully.

To be honest I've  been kept on my toes with this whole project and designed and printed a whole  spectrum of things from letterheads, door signs, posters, invitations to email shots and a website... phew!   

I'd like to wish Alison and Adelle every success with Pure Escape Spa and can't wait to try the hot tub  : )

Gordon Lamb Charity Football Match

Last night I was lucky enough to be a spectator at the Gordon Lamb Charity Football match - in aid of Ashgate Hospice.   It was a fantastic night and great to see so many familiar faces... some that I've not seen for quite some time!  There was an estimated 300+ spectators at Chesterfield's newly built B2net Stadium, and over £550 was raised with more ££'s to come in!

A big thank you to Stuart Pearce - Group Marketing Manager at Gordon Lamb (the guy who taught me all I know)  for letting me share these pictures.

Well done to everyone involved, I'd also like to say a special well done to 'The Lambs' aka my friends Sam & Rachel, who are going to kill me for sharing this photo with the world... but I think you'll agree, they look fabulous!

These are not just flowers... they are fragrant, simply exquisite Tineke flowers!  If you've ever been lucky enough to receive a bunch you will know exactly what I mean!  Recently Bimbo Design has been doing quite a bit of marketing for Kerry at Tineke Floral Designs, above is an advert that I designed for Save the Date Magazine.


Magazine advertising can be an expensive part of the marketing mix, so make sure you do your business justice and have your advert designed for you - yes it will be an additional cost but trying to cut corners and design an advert yourself can be more damaging to your business than you might think!


Who ever said "never judge a book by its cover?!"
