Salon Branding - Pure Escape Spa

Bimbo Design have been delighted to be part of the exciting new venture for Alison and Adelle of Pure Escape Spa in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.  

Pure Escape features a downstairs Spa Lounge with hot tub and infrared sauna, the perfect place to unwind before and after a treatment.  Their boutique chic spa has a beautiful tranquil reception and nail area, 4 luxurious treatment rooms and a relaxing pedicure room. Not forgetting the fabulous VIP area, which is perfect for couples, family and friends, who enjoy pampering together... sounds like heaven!

I met with Alison and Adelle in November of last year, where we planned the look of their new spa and discussed branding ideas.  They both knew exactly the image they were after; high end, exclusive and super chic... 7 months and a lot of hard work later here are the results:

 {Spa Exterior signage}  I kept the design clean and elegant with raised lettering for added impact

{Spa Brochure}  Printed on a lovely silk stock, these look and feel amazing!. 

 

{Appointment cards} Deliciously thick appointment cards, matt laminated for extra resilience.

  {Treatment Room}  I can't take any credit for this, Alison and Adelle have styled the interior beautifully.

To be honest I've  been kept on my toes with this whole project and designed and printed a whole  spectrum of things from letterheads, door signs, posters, invitations to email shots and a website... phew!   

I'd like to wish Alison and Adelle every success with Pure Escape Spa and can't wait to try the hot tub  : )

Gordon Lamb Charity Football Match

Last night I was lucky enough to be a spectator at the Gordon Lamb Charity Football match - in aid of Ashgate Hospice.   It was a fantastic night and great to see so many familiar faces... some that I've not seen for quite some time!  There was an estimated 300+ spectators at Chesterfield's newly built B2net Stadium, and over £550 was raised with more ££'s to come in!

A big thank you to Stuart Pearce - Group Marketing Manager at Gordon Lamb (the guy who taught me all I know)  for letting me share these pictures.

Well done to everyone involved, I'd also like to say a special well done to 'The Lambs' aka my friends Sam & Rachel, who are going to kill me for sharing this photo with the world... but I think you'll agree, they look fabulous!

At Bimbo Design we have been busy making a few tweeks to the Chilli Butler website.  New packages have been added and the galleries have been updated with stunning photography by the one and only Simon Revill Photography  .  

I have been lucky enough to work with John at Chilli Butler for a couple of years and even luckier to see them in action at a number of corporate events that I have been part of.  Wether you are planning a hen or stag night, corporate event or even a BBQ in your own garden, add a Chilli Butler (or hostess) to keep your guests entertained and the glasses topped up!

History in the making!



Bimbo Design were thrilled to be part of the official opening of the newly refurbished Heritage Centre in Barlborough, Chesterfield.  The centre re-opened it's doors to the public on 21st May, and with over 1,000 years of local history it left the many visitors intrigued and fascinated.

We designed and printed pull up banners, display boards, promotional flyers and even picture postcards - our favourite is one of The Barlborough Bear, who lives just outside...!

Chasing Payments...

We all know that cashflow is crucial to any business, no matter how big or small.  With cheques eventually being phased out I decided to take the bull by the horns and leap into the baffling world of card payments... aaarrrgh!  For months I have hunted around, trying to source the best company and been bewildered and confused by so many of them... that was until I came across Accept Cards.

What a refreshing company!  No babble or hard sell, just genuine advice and helpfulness - and their charges are some of the lowest that I have seen.  So I thought I would spread the word to any business wanting to offer the facility of card payments to their customers.  I have now been taking card payments for four months and have actually found that clients pay promptly and it is their preferred method of payment... result!

Shhhh... it's been a little quiet!

Well firstly a BIG apology for the radio silence from Bimbo Design, my little blog has been neglected lately.  One of the main reasons is that I dared to sneak a quick holiday... which as a business owner is quite a scary experience!  

Since starting the business in 2007 i have lived and breathed design, helping many businesses flourish and worked harder than I ever imagined possible.  In under 4 years I have grown my customer base to just over 500 clients, which, when there is only one Bimbo has been an achievement that has exceeded all my expectations - which leads me to my next piece of good news...

I am thrilled to tell you all that from June 1st I will have a new member at Team Bimbo!  Charlie will be joining me as my apprentice.  I will be working closely with Charlie, developing her raw talent and ideas; very soon she will be managing her own clients ...... eeek! how exciting!

I hope you will all join me in wishing Charlie a long and successful career at Bimbo Design.

The Whole Hog! Simply Divine

Wow what a week it's been at Bimbo Design! There are 3 new websites going live this week, so thought I'd stop and tell you a little bit about one of them.  This website is for a lovely local company - Simply Divine.  

Whatever your event or requirement, their professional Hog Roast service will compliment your day and delight your guests. Jayne only uses her own,  farm reared pigs, to ensure the most succulent texture and delicious flavour.  They are able to cater for anything from 30 - 600 guests... Piggin marvelous!

I've designed & built Jayne a bespoke website which not only looks fantastic but within 2 days is already ranking on Google.  Soon to follow will be a Facebook fanpage and matching blog - I just love social media and encourage all of my clients to get involved.

Next on the list is some flyers and business cards to tie in with Simply Divines new branding... so I'd better say 'bye for now!

I'd like to introduce you all to a wonderful photographer - Kathryn at Willow Tree Photography.  In the Summer we worked together an a bridal photo shoot and afterwards swapped business cards, so I was delighted when Kathryn got in touch with me for a bit of print & design work.

To be honest she made my job very easy - when you have fantastic images to work with, the design is a pleasure to do.  Willow Tree Photography has a distinctive style and their work has been featured on industry leading blogs such as Rock n Roll Bride and Wonderland Avenue.

Bimbo Design have been working closely with Derbyshire Event and Wedding Planners for almost a year now!  In that time I've designed lots of promotional material for them, and am pleased to be involved with their latest event - a Micheal Bublé tribute night... Cupcake Parties at April Delights

There is nothing I love more than cake, however designing cake flyers is incredibly difficult - try thinking about fonts and colours when you have so many delicious treats on screen... aargh!

However,  I have struggled through and created these lovely vintage inspired flyers to promote Adele's cupcake parties.

What a great birthday party idea for children,  a party that will keep them completely entertained.  Letting creativity run wild as they decorate their own cupcakes using a mix of buttercream, sugarpaste, glitter and luster dusts...  Oh to be 6 again!

Firstly may I wish everyone Happy New Year!  It was the first day back at the studio for Bimbo Design and Paul at Spirits High Entertainments was quick off the mark.  We've already designed him these dazzling flyers ready for his prom show - THIS WEEKEND!  That's right, designed and printed in a couple of days.  I wouldn't normally encourage last minute marketing, but this was an opportunity Paul simply couldn't miss, and I was more than happy to help.

Peak FM Calendar Launch

Bimbo Design are delighted to be a part of the Peak FM 2011 Charity Calendar, which is NOW ON SALE!  I offered my design services and worked incredibly hard getting the whole thing to print and spent quite a few late nights at the studio to meet the print deadline.  Lots of other local companies also donated services from photography to hair & make up to make the calendar as well put together as it is.

I'm extremely proud to be able to raise money for the charities, National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline and Weston Park Hospital.  All of the models in the calendar have been touched by cancer personally, so I hope that you will be generous and support theses fantastic hard working charities and buy a calendar!

Masquerade Ball - Sponsorship

Bimbo Design recently sponsored the Masquerade Ball to raise awareness and Essential Funds for the Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline

Clients of mine, Julie and Dawn from Derbyshire Wedding & Event Planners arranged the Masquerade Ball to raise money for the Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline run by Wendy Watson and daughter Becky Measures from Peak FM.

More than 180 people attended Grassmoor Golf Centre in Chesterfield for the worthwhile cause, which was the result of many months hard work by Julie, Dawn and Diana of Derbyshire Event & Wedding Planners.

Many local businesses offered their services free of charge to make this event the huge success that it was.

The star of the show was a 5 tier cake, gorgeously hand crafted by the talented Candice Wilson of Love Candy Cakes.  Everyone took part in a guess the weight of the cake on the night which got pulses racing and the event managed to raise more than £600. The VIP guests for the evening were Peak FM’s Becky Measures and mum Wendy Watson, (Founder of The Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline) who enjoyed a well deserved night off.

The evening was full of colour and vibrancy and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night and we raised money for a fantastic cause.  Here is a picture of me, I love nothing more than playing dress up!

I adore these business cards that I have designed & printed for Simon Revill.  I've worked with Simon  on a number of photography projects but never had the pleasure of working on his marketing... but he finally saw the benefits that Bimbo Design could give him over his competition, and let me loose on his business cards... yay!

The photographic market is fierce, so I wanted to make sure that Simons business cards would be kept and not fade into the background.  We decided that a translucent card was most appropriate and a very subtle & delicate designed was applied.  It's a difficult one to explain so i'll let the photograph do the talking (supplied by Simon Revill, of course!)
